TUSCANY PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOPS

EXPLORE AND PHOTOGRAPH THE BREAKTAKING SCENERY OF THE VAL D’ORCIA

PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOPS IN TUSCANY

Join me in Tuscany as we explore and photograph the idyllic landscapes of the world-famous Val d’Orcia. We will visit many iconic locations and photograph lovely Italian farmhouses surrounded by pencil pines, vineyards and endless rolling hills that change colour and pattern throughout the seasons. We’ll be up early every morning to capture these sweeping vistas enshrouded in layers of mist that become basked in the warm colours of the rising sun. As the mist burns off, the red roofs of the farmhouses and tips of the cypress trees glisten in the early morning light.

WHAT YOU WILL PHOTOGRAPH

MYSTERIOUS LANDSCAPES

The Val d’Orcia is full of hidden secrets. With the humidity coming in from the nearby coast and being nestled beside Mount Amiata in the south, the fog often sets in amongst lush green rolling hills, especially in winter. This provides some wonderful opportunities to capture these mystical, fairytale-like images.

MAGICAL SUNRISES

The misty sunrises are the real beauty of Tuscany. As the sun rises over the eastern hills and mountains, it bathes the landscape in the most gorgeous colour. Even without the mist, the light spreading over this sublime landscape will leave you breathless as you click that shutter.

CYPRESS TREES

Of course Tuscany is famous for its iconic cypress trees, often lining roads such as the one leading to San Quirico d'Orcia. These can make beautiful, symmetrical compositions. They can also be found surrounding farmhouses and old chapels, and can be an integral focal point or backdrop to your images.

HISTORIC ARCHITECTURE

Tuscany is dotted with charming medieval villages like San Gimignano & Montepulciano. The narrow streets, old stone buildings, and town squares are perfect for capturing a sense of history. Additionally, there are numerous lovely little churches and chapels, like the Vitaleta Chapel, a lovely secluded chapel framed by cypress trees with striking views of the surrounding countryside.
