Fjern Aktiv Down Jacket
During the past few weeks, I have been wearing and using this jacket on photography outings. I find it to be fantastic for photography as it is so warm when you are standing around waiting for the light to happen. The zips are smooth and well-made and the overall quality is amazing. I went with the medium sized jacket and the fit is great: not too tight nor too baggy, giving you enough room to add layers underneath should you require it. Another reason why this product is ideal for us outdoor photographers is that it can pack down extremely tightly but still allows room for your essential equipment. All in all I think that you cannot go wrong with this product and I highly recommend it.

Fjern Skjold Packable Waterproof Jacket
Now, this Jacket has been put through its paces and out in some truly miserable weather. When out taking images in the great outdoors, I found myself reaching into my bag for this on numerous occasions. Being able to pack this into my camera bag is one of the great things about this product as some other waterproof jackets I have used in the past have been big and bulky and taken up far too much room to be able to make it fit in with all of my other gear. The same cannot be said for this however as it takes up virtually no room at all but it does not let you down for being smaller and lighter. Out in the elements, it does a fantastic job of keeping you dry and warm and for me, that is key when out creating images. If you are cold and wet then you are not comfortable and your creativity will suffer as a result. When things get really cold, I love the fact that this garment gives you enough room underneath to add layers and I combine this with my Aktiv Down jacket to cover me for all the weather can throw at me. Again I cannot fault this product and can highly recommend it.

Fjern Hagna Eco Softshell
These trousers have been absolutely brilliant for my trips out into the landscape. As photographers, we want something durable but also non-restrictive as comfort is really important. I also find that these trousers are warm when I am standing around waiting for the light to happen and, as well as that, they repel the water too, keeping you dry. During one of my recent trips, the rain was torrential so the trousers were really put to the test. I have to say that they really impressed me as I remained dry throughout the day. For extra warmth, you could add a base layer underneath for those really cold days.

Fjern Bresprekk Full Zip Fleece
Now, this fleece is definitely a winner as it keeps you warm with its grid pattern inner lining, and is a great addition as either a standalone fleece or as an extra layer underneath your other jackets. I paired mine with my Aktiv down jacket and was toasty warm for the day. We, as landscape photographers, know how important it is to stay both dry and warm when we are out. If you are uncomfortable, then your ability to create is severely affected. Also, if you are getting just that little bit cold, you can pull the sleeves down and put your thumbs through the cuffs to keep your hands protected and warm.

Now for me this jacket is especially good for when things start to turn really cold. It is a lot thicker and warmer with more down fill and really holds in the warmth when you are out and about either hiking or standing around beside your camera waiting for the light. The bright colours in this range also help to make you stand out and be visible if you are in need of help. For my work as a landscape photographer staying warm is vitally important as if you are uncomfortable in the outdoors then you will be unlikely to be able to concentrate fully and capture those special moments.

Please note: Down is exceptionally fine and can work itself through small openings, especially if the feathers become compressed. To keep your garment looking neat do not pull feathers through (this will make holes bigger), but tease them back in and rub the fabric to help seal the hole.
